The “new” 4-inch iPhone either exists, or a bunch of analysts close to the supply chain are seeing things. Yet another new report on Thursday corroborates earlier rumors that Apple is ready to release a new 4-inch iPhone very soon.

The latest report comes from KGI Securities Ming Chi Kuo, who often has his ear to the ground for all things Apple. According to MacRumors, which cited Kuo’s report, Kuo believes that Apple is ready to release a new 4-inch iPhone with NFC support for Apple Pay, the same camera that’s in the iPhone 5s, a metal body with up to three color options (presumably gold, space gray and silver, but they might be totally something different) and an A9 processor. Touch ID also seems like a given. It sounds like 3D Touch won’t be included.

Kuo says he believes Apple will price the phone between $400 and 4500 and that, in 2016, the phone will “account for 8-9% of total iPhone shipments,” attracting budget-conscious buyers. Kuo didn’t provide an exact release date for the phone, only suggesting that Apple will begin to produce mass quantities during the first quarter.
