Apple has a lot planned for the fall. In addition to new iPhones, an Apple TV refresh, and maybe even an iPad Pro, a new report claims the company will also introduce a 21.5-inch iMac with a 4K display in October.

Compared to all the major new products we’re expecting to come out over the next few months, an iMac with a 4K display isn’t the most exciting revelation. Apple has already released a 5K iMac with a 27-inch display, so this isn’t exactly unexplored territory. We’ve actually seen tidbits here and there suggesting such a product was on the way, and this is as close to confirmation as we’re going to get.

Apple is apparently going to announce the device alongside the release of El Capitan, with shipments set to go out in early November. We kind of expected Apple’s new OS X update to come out sooner than the end of October, especially since it doesn’t appear to be the biggest update Apple has ever released. But it’s possible Apple wants its new iPhones and iOS 9 update to be the focus this month, and then move on to the desktop.

We’re just days away from Apple’s planned Sept. 9 event, where we’re expecting to see the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus, Apple TV, iPad Pro, and the iPad mini 4, among other possible announcements.
