Apple is already testing a version of iOS 12.1.4 that is meant to address the rogue FaceTime bug that allowed caller to access the microphone and even camera of the person they were calling.
The iOS 12.1.4 update is not yet available for consumers, but Apple is testing it according to MacRumors analytics data.
As a placeholder, Apple shut down Group FaceTime to prevent the hack from being exploited. It said it would push out an update “later this week” to fix the rogue bug and that update appears to be iOS 12.1.4.
It’s still not clear when exactly Apple will begin the roll out, but with iOS 12.1.4 already popping up, we wouldn’t be surprise to see with within the next 24 to 48 hours.
