Mazda Motor Corporation announced it will showcase the world premiere of the Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary Edition at the Chicago Auto Show next month.

The iconic Miata first hit the road in 1989 and has since developed a strong following due to its lightweight frame and responsive handling. It’s gone through some changes over the past couple of years though it’s still retained the ubiquitous coupe design. Most recently Mazda updated the engine to deliver 181 horsepower and 151 pound-feet of torque.

It’s not clear if the 30th Anniversary Edition of the Miata will feature an upgrade over the current engine or if it’ll just feature changes to the exterior. Besides the increased power, Mazda also added a telescoping steering wheel and backup rear camera for the first time in the 2019 model.

The Chicago Auto Show will take place on February 7 through February 18. At the event, Mazda will also show off the new Mazda3 with the new SkyActiv engine along with the Mazda6, CX-9, CX-5 and CX-3.
