GE’s New Color Smart Bulbs Feature Google Home Support

GE announced its C by GE portfolio is expanding in 2019, with new smart wall switches, full color lights, and more. Among the more exciting additions is GE’s new color bulbs, which will feature Google Home support.

With Google Home support, users can easily turn GE’s new color bulbs on and off through the Google Home, Google Home Mini, Google Home Max, or Google Home Hub.

The color bulbs will offer millions of colors options and tunable whites, as well as support for Google’s routines feature. So, you can tell your Google Home, “Good morning,” and it’ll turn on your new C by GE color bulbs, along with anything else included in that routine.

GE is also introducing smart switches, which don’t require an additional hub to work. Even when a switch is off, users will still have full control of C by GE smart bulbs (an industry first). GE says that its new smart switches also offer multi-way connections, providing users with full-room lighting control by grouping bulbs.

Finally, C by GE is adding a smart wall plug, making it easy for users to control anything plugged into that outlet, from lamps to Christmas lights.

No pricing or release date for any of these new products has been revealed, but more information should be available soon.
