Netflix’s Bird Box has become so popular that the film has infiltrated meme culture. How, you ask? Via the Bird Box Challenge, which encourages users to perform everyday tasks while blindfolded.
In response to the growing meme, Netflix has responded on Twitter urging fans to be safe.
Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE. We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes.

While having some fun with the challenge around your home can be harmless, taking the challenge into the public could lead to someone getting injured (or worse). Obviously, use your best judgement if you decide to participate in the Bird Box Challenge.
Since hitting Netflix on December 21, Bird Box has become a phenomenon for the streaming service. In fact, after just seven days, Netflix announced that the movie was watched by over 45 million accounts.
