Not all of Netflix’s Marvel projects have been axed. To kick off the new year, the streaming service has released a teaser for The Punisher Season 2, which will see the return of Frank Castle. Just like in season one, Castle will deliver his particular brand of vigilante justice.
The teaser is only 30 seconds long, but it gives plenty of insight into Castle’s psyche. In the video, which naturally takes place in a bar, we see Castle burn his “full and unconditional pardon” from the President of the United States. All that’s left from the ash is the Punisher’s patented skull symbol.

Clearly, Castle doesn’t want to give up his role as the Punisher. Beyond his burning of the pardon, not much else is known about what to expect from the second season. The first season was a hit with critics and fans, so it’s nice to see a second one hitting the streaming service so quickly.
With the release of the second season, however, it’s unclear how much longer the show will stick around. At the end of last year, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage were all cancelled, with no real indication as to what the future will be like for Netflix’s Marvel shows.
In any case, you can catch The Punisher Season 2 on Netflix beginning January 18, 2019.
