Google To Launch Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite Early Next Year

Google’s rumored Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite will allegedly launch in early spring 2019, according to sources speaking to Android Police. Exact pricing is unknown, but the devices are expected to launch on Verizon.

The timeframe is curious considering Google’s Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL became available back in October. Perhaps Google wants to bridge the gap before introducing the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL next fall.

While Android Police claims the new devices will be available on Verizon, it’s unclear if unlocked versions will be offered by Google.

Over the past several weeks, images of the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite have leaked en masse, suggesting the devices are ready to launch. But Google seemingly wants to hold off for now so that it can focus on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

To go along with more wallet-friendly prices, Google’s Lite versions are expected to feature mid-range specs, including a Snapdragon 670 processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 12MP camera. Crucially, both mid-range devices are expected to feature a headphone jack, something that will no doubt turn heads.

With the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL in the upper echelon of pricing, Google’s Lite versions could be very attractive options if they’re priced right. That’s a big “if,” however, so let’s not celebrate these devices just yet.
