This is part of our revamped Guess the Phone series, where we take a look back at phones from yesteryear. For more, you can view all of them here.
Back in the early aughts of the smartphone craze when the market was still finding its identity, this phone arrived and showed that big phones were more than a fluke.
Turns out, phones with big displays, big batteries, and big ideas are very, very good. This phone helped lead a charge that made big screens a staple of the modern smartphone.
This device actually acted as the larger brother to another device. It featured expandable storage, a massive battery, and terrific audio quality. It also featured a rear-facing fingerprint sensor, which is still more or less the norm in 2018.
The problem with the device is that it tried to introduce a few ideas that it didn’t quite execute on. What’s funny is that the phones still being made by this company aren’t all that different from what you see above. It shows how great this device, especially its design, was all these years ago.
I’ll give you one clue about this device: It was released in 2013. The photos alone should clue you in as to what the phone is, but one clue couldn’t hurt.
