The worldwide debate about the title for Avengers 4 has come to an end with the first trailer for the movie dropping. It will be called Avengers: Endgame, a fitting title for the movie that’s concluding the MCU’s ten-year story arc. However, the directors slyly revealed the title months ago on Twitter and we all missed it.
Back in September, the Russo Brothers tweeted an abstract photo of Joe Russo working on the set of the movie with the caption urging viewers to “look hard.” Naturally, even the most casual fan put on their detective hat and went to work. Looking closely at the equipment, some fans pointed out that the word Endgame could be spelled out in the angles.

The ingenious tease gave us the title months before it was actually revealed. This, along with the striking line from Doctor Strange in Avengers: Infinity War stating “we’re in the endgame now” made the title fit perfectly together but none of the creative leaders of the movie confirmed the title until now.
It also didn’t help that chatter surrounding the movie moved in different directions. One such title that was floated around the last few weeks was “Avengers: Annihilation,” but now we know that was incorrect. Goes to show that sometimes things are right in front of your face.
Avengers: Endgame will arrive in theaters April 26, 2019.
