When the iPhone XS and iPhone XS were unveiled, there was no question they were Apple’s best devices yet. Don’t just take our word for it: We put a poll out to see which smartphone you thought deserved to be called the best smartphone of 2018, and Apple’s flagship duo ran away as the number one pick.
The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max grabbed 39% of votes, handily beating the Galaxy Note 9 (17%), OnePlus 6T (11%), and Pixel 3 / Pixel 3 XL (8%). The results clearly show that Apple devices are the favorite among TechnoBuffalo readers, and it wasn’t even close.
This year was a difficult one for Android manufacturers as they struggled to carve out an identity in a post-iPhone X world. Following that device’s release, we saw a slew of imitators that gave rise to the infamous display notch.
Apple’s newest flagships retained the iconic design of the iPhone X while greatly improving the software and hardware performance, with a new A12 Bionic chip and improved camera among the highlights. It was always going to be tough to beat Apple’s devices.
