Verizon is making its prepaid plans a little more affordable, including the unlimited plan.
The carrier this week announced a new pricing format for its prepaid plans. In total, Verizon has four eligible plans that offer varying amounts of data from 500MB to unlimited and each got at least a $5 discount. The new 8GB plan also got an extra gigabyte of data up from the old 7GB standard.
The high-end unlimited prepaid plan saw the biggest discount from $75 down to $65. The 8GB plan will cost $45, the 3GB is $35 and the base 500MB plan is now just $30. Keep in mind that each plan comes with a $5 discount for AutoPlay.
There are some notes you’ll want to keep track of. The unlimited prepaid plan caps out at 480p streaming resolution, is subject to de-prioritization when the network gets congested and doesn’t offer mobile hotspot.
The new plans will go into effect beginning November 6. They have their limitations but it’s the best way to get service while avoiding convoluted contracts.
