Here’s the iPad Pro (2018) in an Official Illustration

Apple will announce the new iPad Pro on Tuesday, but you can see the high-end tablet ahead of its full unveiling in New York City.

Within iOS 12, 9to5Mac discovered an icon that represents the soon-to-be-official product. It’s an illustration that reminds us how Apple will transition from a classic style to something more modern. The iPad Pro (2018) won’t have a physical home button. Instead, there’s gesture-based navigation to accommodate for the edge-to-edge screen.

The display should also have rounded corners. If this all sounds familiar, that’s because Apple’s iPhone X and iPhone XS share many of the same qualities. Apple wants to standardize the appearance between product lines.

Don’t ignore the perimeter, though. The iPad Pro (2018) should keep traditional power and volume buttons, but the one up top might be used for activating Siri as well. Apple rearranged some buttons and their corresponding functions last year. Then again, the icon in iOS 12 could be a placeholder until an announcement happens.

The new iPad Pro won’t be alone. Apple’s expected to introduce new Mac models, too. Aside from an entry-level MacBook, the Cupertino-based company should also roll out refreshed iMac and Mac Mini units. We’ll be there live in Brooklyn with coverage throughout the day.
