Apple is holding a special event on October 30 where it is expected to unveil a new iPad Pro that adds Face ID and a bevy of new features. That’s been the one product we’ve long expected to see, but now reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that a surprising Apple product is also expected to be announced at the event.
Kuo released his predictions for products we should expect to see announced, such as the new iPad Pro that should come with slimmer bezels, no home button and Face ID, but he also included another iPad that was long thought to be dead—the iPad mini.
According to Kuo, Apple will launch a refreshed version of the iPad mini 4 with an updated processor and a lower-cost display. The iPad mini has largely been forgotten by Apple as it has failed to receive any noteworthy updates. It was presumed to be on its way out yet if Kuo is to be believed, Apple will throw it a short lifeline to extend its lifespan at least a couple more years.
Besides the iPad updates, Kuo says to be on the lookout for the a new low-cost MacBook, iMac and Mac mini, and possibly even AirPower and new AirPods. The latter two are more of shots in the dark as they’ve been talked about for over a year now and Apple has yet to release them.
Apple’s October 30 event begins at 10 a.m. ET.
