Avengers 4: Chris Evans’ Last Line As Captain America Was “Really Dumb”

When Chris Evans announced he had wrapped filming for Avengers 4, he revealed how emotional the occasion was, suggesting he would never suit up as Cap again. Since it was his last day, you’d think the day of shooting would’ve been exciting, maybe filled with explosions and deaths and a triumphant victory.

Turns out, it was pretty forgettable.

In an interview with Comicbook, Evans revealed his last day as Captain America mostly involved “picks and pops” and “little things.”

“It was something really stupid, it was something really dumb,” Evans said. “Which I also probably can’t give away. Well, you know, it was reshoots, so you’re doing these little picks and pops, and it’s just little things that they need. It might have been a line to Paul Rudd. He wasn’t there, but it was a stupid line. The line wasn’t memorable to me. The day was more memorable than the line.”

It just goes to show that not everyday on set is glamorous or exciting, even if it is for a major blockbuster like Avengers 4. But considering it was Evans’ last day in the red, white and blue, it was memorable nonetheless. The actor spent 8 years playing Captain America, and not even a mundane day on set could spoil the occasion.

We still don’t know what’s in store for Evans’ character, but numerous theories suggest Captain America could make the ultimate sacrifice when everything is said and done.

Avengers 4 hits theaters on May 3, 2019.
