Avengers 4 Title Was Right Before Our Eyes In Critical Ant-Man Scene

This whole time we’ve been scrutinizing the photo shared by Joe and Anthony Russo to find out the title of Avengers 4, when it was staring at us long before that.

When word hit that the movie would be called Avengers: Annihilation, we only considered the literal definition, which is: “complete destruction or obliteration.” Considering what happened at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, it made perfect sense.

But the post-credits scene in Ant-Man and the Wasp, the one in which we see the dead souls of half the universe, might also confirm that Annihilation is indeed the right title.

Here’s the definition of annihilation as it pertains to physics:

The conversion of matter into energy, especially mutual conversion of a particle and an antiparticle into electromagnetic radiation.

In Ant-Man and the Wasp’s post-credits scene, just as Hank, Hope, and Janet disappear, Scott is surrounded by orange energy orbs. So, not only was half the universe annihilated, but they were converted into energy in the Quantum Realm.

If half the universe was converted into energy, we’re not exactly sure how they’ll be brought back to life. But the numerous theories and speculation lines up. That is if Avengers: Annihilation is the movie’s actual title.
