Actor Mark Ruffalo is no stranger to spoiling key Avengers plot points. He inadvertently did it multiple times for Avengers: Infinity War, most notably letting it slip that everybody dies on Good Morning America, and now he’s back at it again with more spoilers, this time on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Ruffalo took to Twitter to plead with Jimmy Fallon to cut a spoiler he let slip on his appearance on the show airing Friday, October 5. Jimmy responded stating the episode is already set to air and no parts of the interview can be cut, ending the tweet by asking, “Are you sure you’re gonna be in trouble?”
If the spoiler is as big as we hope it is—we’re crossing our fingers for a title reveal—he most assuredly will be. Check out the exchange below.
.@JimmyFallon, I trust that you will cut my spoiler slip on the show tonight. That was “off the record” homey. Please don’t get me in trouble with Marvel (Barry) again. DM me back. M

Dude, it’s too late – already sent the final show to Burbank for air. Are you sure you’re gonna be in trouble? We could maybe bleep it out. What is “DM”? https://t.co/GMds1hGO8X

So what does this all mean? It’s likely just an exchange to hype up Ruffalo’s appearance on the show with a comedic take on his past spoiler flubs. Then again, it could also be the perfect stage for some key Avengers 4 details to be revealed.
Marvel doesn’t usually have a rhyme or reason with its major announcements, but what it does have a history of doing is hyping up major announcements on social media. It did so with the first Captain Marvel trailer with specific tweets by Brie Larson and it looks like it is setting the stage for a major Avengers 4 announcement tonight.
We won’t know until the show airs, but you can rest assured we’ll keep an eye on The Tonight Show to see if we get great insights into Avengers 4.
