Fortnite for Switch Bundle Doesn’t Cost Any Extra

Fortnite earned itself an exclusive bundle from Nintendo.

The Switch in this configuration doesn’t cost any more money ($299), though. Fortnite is a free-to-play title; therefore, it’s merely a better entrance for the game on Nintendo’s video game console. None of the players are required to pay unless they want premium content like skins. But, to sweeten the pot, Nintendo and Epic Games have some bonuses attached.

If you purchase the Fortnite bundle, you’ll get $1,000 V-Buck as well as the Double Helix set. The latter includes a “unique Character Outfit, Back Bling, Glider, and Pickaxe.” As for the V-Bucks, those can be used on a Battle Pass for additional in-game content.

Epic Games confirmed a few months ago that, across all platforms, more than 125 million players are on Fortnite. It’s playable on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC/Mac, and mobile.

By the way, the bundle doesn’t have any customization on Nintendo’s hardware. The Switch here has its standard dock as well as red- and blue-colored Joy Con controllers. Anyone who likes custom hardware should take a look at the new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Pokémon Let’s Go bundles.

Nintendo says the Fortnite bundle will arrive online and in stores on Friday, October 5.
