Avengers 4: Fan Favorite Character Confirmed to Come Back From the Dead

By now, it is all but confirmed that the events of Avengers: Infinity War will be undone in Avengers 4 through some manner. We’re not sure how, but day by day, we get more confirmation that certain characters are returning even though they met their dusty end at the end. The latest confirmation we have is for one of the newest members of the Avengers and also one of our favorite characters—Mantis.

Mantis was first introduced to the MCU in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, so she’s a very recent addition but has quickly become a fan favorite in just two movies due to her naive personality. Pom Klementieff, the actress who portrays the character, recently sat down for an interview with Paper Magazine and in answering a serious question, she inadvertently confirmed Mantis’ return in Avengers 4.

When asked about the topic about the #MeToo movement, Klementieff told a story about being on set for a mysterious Marvel movie, but the details about it left little to the imagination.

“It’s scary and it’s beautiful, too. I remember Brie Larson coming to me and Danai Gurira on set of The Avengers and she told me about the [Time’s Up] letter to sign and I found it really amazing to have all these women—and men too—come together in fighting for a better world,” said Klementieff.

Serious topic aside, the quote gave us many behind-the-scenes details regarding Mantis’ character. Klementieff never once mentions Avengers 4 by name, only stating The Avengers movie, but in mentioning Brie Larson (Captain Marvel) and Danai Gurira (Okoye), it confirmed that Mantis would come across the two characters, something she never does in Avengers: Infinity War

For most of Infinity War, Mantis is either in the Guardians spaceship or on Titan. Okoye spends her entire time in Wakanda. That means the only time Klementieff has shot a scene with Brie Larson and Danai Gurira is for Avengers 4, seemingly confirming Mantis will come back from the dead and meet Captain Marvel and Okoye in the next Avengers movie.

This hardly comes as a surprise, but there it is, Mantis will return for Avengers 4. At the rate we’re going, by the time Avengers 4 comes out, it wouldn’t be surprising if Marvel outright confirms that the dead Avengers are coming back.
