Nintendo Direct: Switch-Focused Showcase Will Air Tomorrow

Nintendo announced it will hold a Direct presentation focused on the Switch and 3DS on Thursday, September 6, at 3 pm PT. The event, which fans will be able to watch on YouTube, will share information about upcoming titles for the two portable systems.

One of the things fans are hoping Nintendo will discuss is Switch Online, the company’s new service that will allow users to play games online. The service will also provide users with access to 20 NES titles, including Super Mario Bros. 3.

In fact, Nintendo teased more information about the upcoming service in an earlier tweet, revealing Switch Online users will be able to play online co-op as Mario and Luigi in the original Mario Bros. game. It’s the kind of functionality subscribers can expect when the service launches.

Meanwhile, Nintendo may also dedicate some of the Direct to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which the company has been feverishly hyping over the past few months.

Whatever Nintendo reveals, I’m hopeful the company will bring more under-appreciated Wii U titles to the Switch, joining the likes of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.

We’ll find out what Nintendo has in store during its Direct on Thursday.
