Bixby Will Buy Those Concert Tickets for You

Now you can have Samsung’s Bixby find and order tickets for live events. Live Nation, which owns Ticketmaster, announced that the digital assistant doubles as a box office booker after its latest update.

In North America, the digital assistant can tap into Ticketmaster’s massive catalog of events and complete transactions with voice commands alone. The feature isn’t available on all Galaxy devices, but it should be widespread soon. Samsung and Live Nation are offering it as an exclusive feature for Bixby on the Galaxy Note 9 so far.

The partnership between these two companies takes advantage of Ticketmaster’s API, which was opened in an effort to bolster third-party apps across all categories.

Bixby’s not too picky with how the voice commands are made. It lets you ask about specific artists, teams, locations, or dates. Upon asking the digital assistant for events, the results will be displayed and a user can decide on tickets.

Over time, Bixby will use its artificial intelligence and machine learning to make better recommendations for events that might be appealing to you.
