Aside from a few unofficial set photos, Marvel has yet to release any images (or video) of Brie Larson as Captain Marvel. While the studio has said we probably won’t see anything for a few more months, promotional merchandise has revealed a new look at Larson donning the hero’s iconic outfit.
The image comes courtesy of a notebook collection from Insight Editions, which features Larson in full battle pose. It’s not much, but considering we’ve seen next to nothing over the past several months, it’s better than nothing. For what it’s worth, the notebook collection won’t be released until April 2 of next year.
The notebook also features a look at Captain Marvel’s insignia, with a tagline saying, “Protector of the skies.” Whether that tagline will be officially used in the film remains to be seen; I can already envision a news broadcast saying it during her solo movie. It certainly has a nice ring to it.
Captain Marvel’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a long time coming. Her imminent arrival was teased during a post-credits scene for Avengers: Infinity War, with Marvel later revealing that when she arrives, she will be the most powerful Avengers by far.
Before she appears in next year’s Avengers 4, Captain Marvel will make her debut in a solo movie that comes out March 8, 2019.
