Pixel 3 XL Can’t Lie Low in Canada, Here’s Another Leak

If you’re a TechnoBuffalo reader in Toronto, be on the lookout for Google’s Pixel 3 XL.

The Mountain View-based company can’t seem to stop one employee from getting caught on camera with its latest flagship. Following last week’s in-the-wild shot of it, the Pixel 3 XL was spotted in Canada’s largest city once again. This time around we’re getting to see the 2018 flagship from the front and back with pretty much every design-related detail exposed.

From the front, there isn’t anything new to say. The photo aligns with the previous leak as well as all the information offered up so far. It reminds us that, despite complaints, Google will ship its top-of-the-line model with a taller-than-usual notch. The Pixel 3 XL will have a dual-camera setup and front-facing stereo speakers, too.

Since there’s a notch grabbing screen real estate, Google will transition the status bar to the left and ride sides of the dip. Android 9.0 Pie, which began rolling out a few weeks ago, is tailored for notches.

The rear panel should be made almost entirely out of metal. Aside from looking more premium, this will give wireless charging support to the phone. Google’s smaller model will have a different face, but both the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will match from the back and sport wire-free power transferring.

Just don’t expect a dual-camera setup on the back. That’ll remain on the face; however, Google seems very content with its algorithm for the main camera to ride alone.

Also, it’s definitely the same employee who’s been rocking the Pixel 3 XL throughout Toronto. How do we know that? The backpack on their lap is the same between the three leaked photos. Unless this is the backpack Google gives to all employees in Toronto, this individual keeps finding himself/herself next to the wrong people on public transportation.

The app running on this unit is WhatsApp, but there’s nothing else to comment on. We also see Gboard and Android Pie’s gesture-based navigation on the lower-have of the screen.

Google is expected to announce the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL on Thursday, October 4.
