Motorola’s P30 is the Most Egregious iPhone X Clone Yet

For all the hate Apple receives, the company is still a marquee trendsetter in the smartphone market. When it does something, other manufacturers copy it. With that said, it didn’t come as a surprise when the iPhone X became a subject of inspiration for many Android flagships, but the new Motorola P30 bypassed all of the formalities and just straight ripped off every design element of Apple’s flagship iPhone.

The first image of Motorola’s newest flagship leaked courtesy of AndroidPure and if it didn’t have the Motorola stamp at the bottom and back, it’d be nearly impossible to distinguish it from the iPhone X.

There has been no confirmation that Motorola is working on this new model, but given the newest leak, along with other leaks and teases, the P30 is expected to arrive later this year in three available models: P30, P30 Play and P30 Note.

Each will likely vary in size and specs, but each will feature an iPhone X-inspired design, from the notch to the colorful wallpaper. Motorola is showing no shame.

It’s obviously in poor taste, but at the same time you have to admire Motorola’s courage, to borrow a phrase coined by Apple. Instead of acting like countless other Android manufacturers that coyly copy various aspects of Apple’s designs just enough to deny it, Motorola just said to hell with it and flat out owned the iPhone X clone angle. The P30 is an iPhone X with Android, deal with it.

About the only major difference is the P30 is still sporting a chin at the bottom. Motorola, just like every other Android manufacturer, hasn’t figured out how to bend the panel to eliminate the bezel.

The standard P30 is expected to come with a 6.2-inch display with 19:9 aspect ratio, dual-camera system with 16MP and 5MP lenses, octo-core chip, 6GB of RAM, 64GB and 128GB variants and a 3,000mAh battery. Details are even more scare for the P30 Play and P30 Note, though the P30 Play is expected to be the cheapest of the trio and come with a gargantuan 5,000mAh battery.

Motorola should reveal more details about its new P30 line in the coming weeks
