Long-Missing Marvel Character May Return for Spider-Man: Far From Home

Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill hasn’t played a major role in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie since Avengers: Age of Ultron. She did briefly show up in Avengers: Infinity War, but that was right before she disappeared into dust.

However, she may be returning to play a pivotal role in the upcoming MCU movie Spider-Man: Far From Home, according to a key cast member. In an Instagram post, actor Numan Acar—who is expected to portray Chameleon—posted a selfie of himself on the set of the movie and including a hashtag of Smulders’ name.

As of now, Smulders has not been confirmed to be involved in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but it’s not the first time we’ve heard about Maria Hill’s possible return to prominence in the MCU.

After word got out and speculation began to run rampant, Acar deleted the hashtag but the news was already out. We had no idea Maria Hill would show up in Infinity War until the last scene threw viewers a curveball.

Additionally, in the past couple days Samuel L. Jackson has also been posting on Instagram about his return as Nick Fury. Given Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 have already wrapped up production, that leaves Spider-Man: Far From Home as the only other Marvel movie he could be shooting right now.

Nick Fury making his return alongside Maria Hill seems quite coincidental.
