Fresh Xbox Hardware Launching Next Month

In just a few weeks, new Xbox hardware will be unveiled. Just don’t go thinking it’s an entirely new video game console.

Microsoft will be participating in Gamescom once again. During the trade show, the Redmond-based company plans to offer Xbox and Mixer booths. While the Mixer booth will be focused on live-streaming competition-based challenges, the Xbox booth will have more than a dozen games across various genres for attendees to try out.

As for the fresh hardware, we’re likely going to see a new Xbox Elite Controller. The heavy-duty accessory was introduced in 2015 with customization at the forefront. Now, with the Xbox One X on the market and competitive gaming on the rise, Microsoft might want to release a revised version of the controller.

The latest rumors surrounding the Xbox Elite Controller V2, according to The Verge, suggest it’ll have a USB-C port, Bluetooth for Windows, and a tweaked design. It should cost $149 like the current model.

If there isn’t a new premium controller announced, Microsoft could instead bolster its lineup with more bundles and a deeper Xbox Design Studio color selection.

Gamescom, which takes place in Berlin every summer, will commence on August 21.
