Google Pay Just Got Way More Convenient for That Night Out

The latest update for Google Pay makes the mobile payments service a lot like its competitors.

Now you don’t need a separate app to send or receive money. When the service was repackaged earlier in the year, Google Pay still required users to have two apps for that purpose. But now it’s official that Google Pay and Google Pay Send are joining into a single app. You’re also able to quickly split a transaction between friends if a merchant supports Google Pay.

Also, Google Pay will store your tickets and boarding pass. So you don’t need to print out anything or jump through several apps. If you let it, Google Pay will scrape your email account to sync tickets.

Some of the partners getting behind this includes Ticketmaster, Southwest, Eventbrite, Singapore Airlines, and Vueling.

The less exciting new addition for the service is a cleaner overview page. Google explains that it’s easier to manage your payment information whether that’s on the web or in an app.
