Galaxy S10 might be the real champ of selfie-taking

The dual-camera setup could make its way to the front of the Galaxy S10.

Samsung, according to The Bell, will introduce its 2019 flagship with a dual-camera setup for taking selfies. Other Galaxy-branded devices have shipped with a single-camera setup on the front, but Samsung did add a second lens for the Galaxy A8 earlier this year.

With the report not laying out anything else, there’s nothing to add about the technology inside the two lenses. It did however, add that at least one Galaxy S10 model will have a triple-camera setup on the back.

The tweaked setup could be necessary for enhanced facial recognition. Samsung’s used iris scanning up until this point, but the company is reportedly developing something similar to Apple’s TrueDepth camera system on the iPhone X.

As always, we recommend taking a report like this with a grain of salt. The Galaxy S10 is still so far from debuting; therefore, you should expect things to change leading up to its arrival. But the phone should be announced by Samsung within the first few months of 2019.
