¿Hablas español? It doesn’t matter if you don’t because Google Home does. Google said that starting today, you can talk to Google Home in Spanish for normal commands and it’ll respond in kind.
Interestingly, the ability has been available for Google Assistant for some time but somehow it wasn’t available for the Google Home, Google Home Max or Google Home Mini. That changes today.
There will be three versions of Spanish available for the US, Mexico and Spain, and each will deliver the popular dialect of the region. Incidentally, Google Home just launched in Spain last week and it is available in Mexico starting today.
To activate the feature, hop into the Assistant’s settings on your smartphone, select the smart speaker within the ‘devices’ menu in the top right corner, then select “Assistant language” and change the language of choice to Spanish.
Some of the first dictation directions you can start with include “Ok Google, ¿cómo será mi día?” and “Ok Google, ¿cuándo juega México?”
