Unlocked LG G7 arrives this summer in the US

by Justin Herrick | June 14, 2018

Most of the major U.S. carriers will sell LG’s latest flagship. You might want to hold off on purchasing one of their variants, though. The unlocked G7 will be released in the U.S. next month with an appealing advantage.

The model (LG-G710ULM) is carrier-unlocked, so it’ll work on both GSM and CDMA networks. Too often we see unlocked variants work only on GSM networks. Here, though, you can take the unlocked G7 to carriers like Verizon and Sprint as well.

B&H Photo seems to be alone with the unlocked G7 up for pre-order today, but others should follow soon. The retailer has LG’s 2018 flagship available unlocked and in platinum for $749.

As for other markets, we’re not sure about the unlocked variant’s status. LG hasn’t commented on the possibility, but it’ll likely appear elsewhere. Unlocked mobile devices have been common outside the U.S. for many years.

Just keep an eye on the retailers in your market to see if the unlocked G7 goes up for sale in the coming weeks.
