Super Mario Party lands on the Switch this fall

Nintendo will release a new Mario Party game by the end of the year.

The latest installment in the party game series was announced during Nintendo’s E3 2018 presentation. Super Mario Party, which is being developed exclusively for the Switch, will be familiar for anyone who’s played Mario Party over the last two decades. As always, players are dropped on a massive board in which you complete minigames to win.

Here you can take advantage of the Switch’s portability. Some minigames are made to work across multiple Switch units. Nintendo explains that players can have LAN parties of sorts with gameplay traveling across screens.

Nintendo is putting Mario Party on a regular video game console after a three-year absence. The company released Mario Party 10 for the Wii U in 2015, and the 3DS had Mario Party: Star Rush in 2016 and Mario Party: The Top 100 in 2017. The series once saw near-annual releases.

Super Mario Party is scheduled to be released on October 5.
