Fortnite is coming to the Nintendo Switch today

Fortnite: Battle Royale is coming to the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo announced the news during its E3 press conferences confirming what was already expected. Epic Games has been busy porting over its wildly popular game to just about every available platform with the lone exception being the Switch until now.

Nintendo announced Fortnite would be available as a free download from the eShop starting today at 10 a.m. PT, so we won’t have to wait to get our hands on the game. During the press conferences, Nintendo showed off the usual footage of Switch users having loads of fun playing Fortnite on the system.

Not many details were revealed about some of the mechanics of the game, but we imagine it’ll be similar to how it works on the Xbox and PS4.

Update: The game is now available through Nintendo’s eShop.
