Here’s our first look at Ghost of Tsushima

What’s Sucker Punch been up to since Infamous: Second Son hit in early 2014? We got a quick look at the PlayStation Experience this last winter at the studio’s new project, Ghost of Tsushima. At Sony’s E3 press show, we got our first look at how they game will actually play.

Ghost of Tsushima is an open-world samurai game set in the 13th century when the Mongol horde invaded Japan. In this trailer, we see the main character encountering roving bands of Mongols before a climactic rescue and duel sequence.

The focus seems to be on intense swordplay with one-hit kills and intense violence, complete with dismemberment. The game is as colorful as I remember Second Son being.

Sony didn’t offer up a release date for the game, though we’d venture a guess at 2019 at this point. We’re expecting to see Ghost of Tsushima later this week, so check back to see what we learn.
