Dark Souls developer From Software showed up at Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference with its latest game, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and man oh man, did it bring a rockin’ trailer!
It’s not hard to see the inspiration that the Souls games had on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. From Software’s approach to combat has been a reliable mechanics for games they developed like Bloodborne and games that it inspired like Nioh.
However, with an aesthetic like the one found in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, who cares. The samurai spin on Dark Souls worked for Nioh and that goes double here. Japanese demons, dragons, ogres, and ghosts never get old.
The game premiered at Microsoft’s press conference, but Activision is actually the publisher. It is safe to assume that it will at least be coming to the PlayStation 4 and PC. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice will be released in 2019.
