Players will be thrust back into the shoes of Agent 47 as the famous hitman attempts to take out more targets in Hitman 2. The first game in the rebooted series was received really well by critics and fans, and the sequel looks like it’ll build on that foundation.
When Hitman 2 is released on November 13, players will see the nomadic assassin travel to a race track in Miami, a vibrant rainforest, and more locales. In total, there will be six new locations. Similar to the first game, players will be challenged to take out targets in increasingly creative ways.
While the Hitman franchise has been around for years, the 2016 reboot took a different approach, releasing the game in separate episodes, with each one containing a target for players to eliminate. Levels were presented in a sandbox-style, giving players complete freedom to explore.
The game also included elusive targets, time-limited missions that players had only one opportunity to complete. If the player failed, the target would not return.
In all likelihood, Hitman 2 will provide players with a similar structure, hopefully with some new gameplay mechanics in tow. One difference this year will be a Sniper Assassin mode, which players will be able to tackle with a friend. If you pre-order Hitman 2 you’ll get access to Sniper Assassin today.
With E3 coming next week, we’ll likely learn more about the upcoming title. Hitman 2 will be available November 13 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
