Stop blaming Star-Lord for what happened in Avengers: Infinity War, says Chris Pratt

Warning: Spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War are contained in this post.

The ending of Avengers: Infinity War took many MCU fans by surprise with its unhappy ending. This time around, the bad guy gave it to the good guys, and they weren’t able to do anything about it. Well, maybe if that one key moment involving Star-Lord and Thanos had turned out a little different things may have changed, but it didn’t, and Star-Lord himself, actor Chris Pratt, is tired of the blame being thrown his way.

In a recent interview with RadioTimes, Chris Pratt touched on the subject while promoting his upcoming movie Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. When asked about Star-Lord’s questionable decision during the movie, Pratt acknowledged that MCU fans aren’t happy with him right now, but he’s not backing down. He’s tired of the blame being put on Star-Lord and suggests people possibly blame the villain of the movie.

Look, the guy watched his mother die. He watched as his father figure died in his arms. He was forced to kill his own biological father. And now has suffered the loss of the love of his life. So I think he reacted in a way that’s very human, and I think the humanity of the Guardians of the Galaxy is what sets them apart from other superheroes. I think if we did it a hundred times I wouldn’t change a motherf***ing thing.

Those are some strong words by Pratt, who later went on to suggest that people start pointing the finger at Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet, leading to the demise of half the universe, including Star-Lord and many other of our favorite Marvel superheroes.

We understand Pratt’s feelings about the situation, but he has to admit that a little fault does fall on Star-Lord’s shoulders. He did ruin a prime opportunity to take down Thanos. That being said, fans shouldn’t be blaming Chris Pratt; he’s just an actor playing the role. Leave the guy alone, it’s not his fault that’s how the script went.

Avengers: Infinity War ended on a big-time cliffhanger that sets up the events of Avengers 4, due out May of next year. Presumably, the remaining Avengers will find a way to make things right and give Thanos his proper punishment. That likely includes the return of many of the vanquished heroes.
