A “Reservations” tab is coming to Google Assistant, culminating months of speculation of the feature. As has been the case for a number of recent features, Google is beginning the roll out of the feature with the iOS Google Assistant app instead of its Android counterpart.
According to 9to5Google, the feature was first noticed in version 7.26 of the Google app back in April. It was unclear what the feature set would look like, but now that it is available on the iOS app, we have a pretty good idea of what it is.
In short, it syncs up with your respective Gmail account and gathers all of the “reservations” you have into a neat list. The list will live under the Settings section in the Google Assistant app for iOS. We’re not sure how it’s going to look for Android, although it’ll likely work in a similar manner. Looking down the menu, near the bottom right under Purchases will be a Reservations slot that will house a chronological list of all of your reservations for flights, hotels, events and more.
Tapping on an individual reservation will let you know where it originated and the email it came from. The section for flights will will feature information such as airline, flight number, destination and date of flight. A similar information breakdown pops up for other reservations you may have. The feature is a small addition but one that will prove to be quite useful when you are trying to organize yourself on trips that involve multiple flights and hotels.
The Reservations tab is now available for the Google Assistant app on iOS and should be rolling out to Android users in the coming days.
