Black Panther is now available on Blu-ray, and it’s even better than you remember

Black Panther arrived onto the scene like a bolt of lightning. It made important political statements while celebrating the joyous and vibrant world of Wakanda, a fictional nation in Africa and home to T’Challa (aka Black Panther).

You can read our review of Black Panther right here. Needless to say, it’s one of Marvel Studios’s more important films, not just because of its ability to mix superheroes with contemporary politics, but its introduction of some of the Marvel’s Cinematic Universe’s best characters.

Three months after its release, the movie is now available on Blu-ray and digital download. If you enjoyed your experience in theaters, you’ll love the numerous bonus features Black Panther’s home release has to offer.

One of the things that resonated most with audiences was how director Ryan Coogler brought Wakanda to life; it’s a world unlike anything we’ve seen in a superhero movie. Black Panther displays a country full of beautiful tradition and culture, unspoiled by the outside world and allowed to thrive with unbridled technological advancement.

One of the Blu-ray’s bonus features focuses entirely on bringing the colorful nation to the big screen, including the challenges of creating the costumes and dressing the sets. There’s also a fascinating roundtable discussion, and an additional extra that focuses on the world of Black Panther beyond the warm skyscrapers and abundant resources.

It wouldn’t be a believable world without believable characters, and Black Panther is full of some of the best in the MCU. From Shuri to Okoye to Nakia, Black Panther assembles a strong cast. There are two great extras that focus on the movie’s characters, one on the people of Wakanda and one on the fierce women who provide for and protect T’Challa.

Having already moved on to Avengers: Infinity War, it’s easy to forget about the triumph that is Black Panther. Now that the home releases are available, you can revisit Wakanda (before it was obliterated) and more deeply explore the hermit nation and its inhabitants.

Below is a full list of the bonus material you’ll get if you purchase the Blu-ray. Note that some of the material may vary depending on retailer. As always, if you purchase the Blu-ray, you’ll also get a digital code to download the movie through Movies Anywhere.
