Here are all the major Apple products to get excited for in 2018

Apple kicked off 2018 by introducing a brand new iPad, but that’s not all we can expect from the Cupertino company this year. A trio of new iPhone X-like devices are said to be on the horizon, as well as the possibility of an iPhone SE 2. But there’s more!

If we look at Apple’s potential roadmap, there’s actually quite a bit to look forward to. For one, Apple is said to be working on a pair of noise-canceling headphones, as well as a sequel to the AirPods, which may be water resistant. Then there’s an iPad Pro with Face ID, and a redesigned Apple Watch.

All of the below products will come in addition to the next versions of iOS and macOS, so there’s plenty to look forward to if you’re an Apple fan.

AirPower and AirPods wireless charging case. These we know are coming. When, exactly, remains up in the air. The AirPower and wireless charging case for AirPods were both announced months ago, with no updates to speak of since. Apple has made it a habit of announcing new products and not delivering for months. That’s not usually the company’s MO.

The AirPower promises to charge multiple devices at once, including your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods case. The mat supports fast charging, too, which is great news for iPhone 8 and iPhone X owners. Unfortunately, we don’t know how much AirPower will cost, nor do we have a release date.

iPhone X sequel, iPhone SE 2, and more. Apple may release four new iPhones this year, including an iPhone X Plus. The company will allegedly introduce two iPhone X sequels, another device with an LCD display, and an iPhone SE 2—all of which should feature iPhone X-like designs.

It’s unclear what big innovations to expect from the next iPhone iterations. Chances are, the next iPhone X will be virtually identical to the existing iPhone X, save for newer specs. The iPhone X Plus will simply be a bigger version. The third model, the one with an LCD display, is said to be more affordable while still offering Face ID.

In other words, there will be a lot of options for people this fall. The wild card here is the iPhone SE 2, which we’re still not sure exists. But if one does, it may feature a design similar to the iPhone X, just smaller in scale like an iPhone 5. Couple that with a more affordable price, and you have our attention.

iPad Pro with Face ID. Apple’s new 9.7-inch iPad, which is just $329, gives people little reason to splurge for the more expensive iPad Pro. Faced with this dilemma, Apple will reportedly release a revamped iPad Pro with face ID technology. How this will fundamentally change the iPad experience remains to be seen, but it’s a safe bet Apple has some aces up its sleeve.

Along with a revamped iPad Pro, we could see an updated Apple Pencil. These tools together may finally help Apple realize its dream of replacing your computer with the iPad.

There’s a new MacBook in town. Apple may retire the MacBook Air for good and replace it with a more affordable MacBook. Really, it makes no sense the MacBook Air still exists other than it’s Apple most affordable laptop. We don’t know much more beyond that, but if it’s anything like Apple’s existing MacBook, it’ll feature a solid design and extreme portability. Let’s just hope it has a little more power.

Improved AirPods are on the way. The AirPods have evolved into one of Apple’s most impressive products in years. Now, it sounds like Apple is ready to cement its wireless headphones prowess with a sequel. Apparently, the new AirPods will feature always-listening Siri and improved durability. Battery life may also see a boost, which would all but cement the AirPods as one of Apple’s most important innovations ever.

Here come high-end noise-cancelling headphones. Rumor has it Apple wants to battle Bose with new high-end headphones, which are said to feature noise-cancelling technology and the same seamless wireless functionality of the AirPods. What they’ll look like and how much they’ll cost remains to be seen, but expect the price to be upwards of $300, similar to other high-end options.

An Apple watch with a trendier design. The Apple Watch Series 4 may finally see Apple introduce a new design to its wearable family. Which is great news, because the square form factor of the current Apple watch has become very stale. According to reports, the next Apple Watch will feature a trendier design, though it’s unclear if that means it’ll take on a rounded form factor. Either way, Apple is dominating the wearable market, and could further its lead with the Apple Watch 4.
