OnePlus is preparing to announce its most expensive product ever. While the brand has always tried being an affordable alternative to mainstream flagships, the OnePlus 6 is expected to come in at price higher than any of its predecessors. BBK Electronics, its parent company, appears to be interested in taking OnePlus further into the high-end segment to increase revenue.
There’s new information laying out just how much the OnePlus 6 might cost. The 2018 flagship will start at $555 (Rs. 36,999), according to TrueTech in an exclusive report.
Offered in two models, you’ll get to choose between 64GB and 128GB of storage. The starting price mentioned before, of course, belongs to the base model. If you want to double the storage, the price jumps to $600 (39,999). With the OnePlus 6, OnePlus isn’t aiming for affordability anymore.
Remember that these prices are for India, though. Based on conversion rates and importing units to other countries, the OnePlus 6 could be more or less expensive where you are.
The OnePlus 6 will be announced on May 16 during a launch event in London, and certainly there we’ll find out what’s going on in terms of pricing.
