Update (2:40PM PT): YouTube experienced an active shooter situation on Tuesday afternoon, leaving several victims in the hospital with injuries. The San Bruno Police Department confirmed there’s one individual left deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, a female who is the suspect. It’s unknown if the suspect worked at YouTube or another Google subsidiary.

Original (1:15PM PT):

Police confirmed on Tuesday that a shooter opened fire at YouTube’s headquarters in San Bruno, California.

The San Bruno Police Department responded to activity at 901 Cherry Avenue where the main campus for Google’s video streaming service is located. Prior to law enforcement confirming the news, the city manager for San Bruno told KRON4 that multiple 9-1-1 calls came out of YouTube’s HQ.

Employees from within the building tweeted about hearing shots and seeing people flee throughout. Some also shared they saw blood in certain locations. Reports suggest as many as twenty shots were fired.

Meanwhile, patients from the incident were been admitted to the nearby Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Stanford University Medical Center received patients as well.

Google’s communications department issued a statement on Twitter. The company says it is “coordinating with authorities” as needed. If there’s anything new, Google will issue additional updates on social media.
