Apple Store down ahead of ‘Field Trip’ event

by Sean P. Aune | March 27, 2018

Apple has temporarily closed its online store as the company prepares for its education-focused event in Chicago later today.

While Apple’s event is still around four hours away, the company has already lowered the virtual shutters on its online store to prepare for whatever new products will be announced. The current speculation is focused on a lower cost iPad meant for schools, but nothing is certain at this time.

It’s amazing that in 2018 this is still how Apple handles updating its store. One has to imagine this is done partially to build suspense and anticipation. No matter what the cause, however, it has become a staple of every Apple event and always leads one to wonder about what exactly will be introduced.

Stay tuned to TechnoBuffalo throughout the day for coverage from Apple’s Chicago event.
