In the past, we’ve explored how similar OnePlus devices look to Oppo’s. Afterall, they are owned by the same company. If you’ve paid any attention to the past couple devices from Oppo, then you’ve probably noticed they are a great roadmap for what OnePlus will do next. Oppo’s R11 foreshadowed the OnePlus 5’s design, while the Oppo R11S was virtually identical to the OnePlus 5T.
By that metric, the new Oppo R15 might give us our best look yet at the upcoming OnePlus 6.
Oppo unveiled the R15 in China this week and it looks like a modern Android device. By that I mean it comes with a nearly bezel-less display and a signature notch at the top. That has been the go-to feature for Android devices lately, taking great influence from the iPhone X, and the R15 (and possibly the OnePlus 6) is jumping on the craze.
The R15 comes with some impressive specs: 6.2-inch OLED display, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, Android Oreo (8.1), 3,450mAh battery and Helio P60 processor. But its price is even better, selling for about $450. Coincidentally, that’s about the same price OnePlus’ phones go for.
Oppo is also offering a “Dream Mirror” edition that will will feature a body made of ceramic and sport a Snapdragon 660 processor.
In the images that were released of the Oppo R15, the front is outlined with the notch display and the back seems to be made of glass with a horizontal dual camera. It will also be quite colorful, coming in three variants: white, red and black.
If Oppo’s design makes its way into OnePlus’ flagship once again, it’s very likely the R15 is a reliable snapshot of what we can expect out of the OnePlus 6.
