We’re just over a month away from the release of Avengers: Infinity War. The highly anticipated MCU movie will bring together all of the heroes that have been introduced over the past decade to take on the mighty Thanos.
Before you watch it, you might want to catch up on some of the movies that set the stage for the latest Avengers movie. There are a lot of moving pieces; Thanos’ storyline in particular has been spliced into different Marvel movies. If only there was a way you could watch all of the movies in the MCU in one sitting? AMC has your back.
AMC Theaters is holding a colossal 31-hour MCU marathon at couple theaters in anticipation of Avengers: Infinity War. It will be the best way to catch up on all things MCU while testing your endurance. Beyond news of the marathon itself, not much is known about the marathon, such as movie breakdown or the date it is happening.
We should note that if the marathon includes every movie in the MCU (from start to finish), including Black Panther, the total allotted time for all 18 movies would be 38 hours. AMC is likely cutting out the ending credits, but even with that, we doubt it will shave off seven hours of watch time.
That only leaves another two other options: either some movies will be heavily condensed to cut off some of their run time or a movie or two will be excluded entirely. To be honest, The Incredible Hulk doesn’t deserve to be included and streamlining early MCU movies would help with the experience. Exploring Captain America or Thor’s origin story doesn’t really affect the current storyline anyway.
Keep an eye on AMC for the official announcement with more details of the monster marathon.
UPDATE: AMC confirmed the slate of Marvel films that will be a part of the marathon. Interestingly, it will only be 12 of the 18 MCU movies. The marathon will take place on April 25 in two theaters, AMC Empire 25 (New York) and AMC Disney Springs 24 (Orlando) and will culminate with the screening of Avengers: Infinity War. Also, tickets will be $75.
