YouTube is bringing the sleek, dark theme it unveiled with the redesigned web version to its mobile apps.
According to The Verge, the update will start rolling out today for iOS and Android apps. It will follow the same aesthetic as the dark mode available for the web version. That is of a darker gray color scheme rather than an outright black. The new mode will make it infinitely easier to navigate the app at night when the all-white theme can be harsh on the eyes.
To activate the mode, just tap the profile icon at the top right hand corner, got to settings, turn on the dark theme toggle and you have yourself a new look YouTube.
The dark theme is a part of the 13.08 update YouTube rolled out last week. That means the dark theme will be available when Google rolls out an update on the server side, making the new mode available for users. That should start happening today.
