Apple’s AirPower wireless charger rumored to arrive within days

by Danny Zepeda | March 13, 2018

It has been rumored Apple’s AirPower wireless charger will arrive in March, but so far it has yet to make an appearance. That hasn’t diminished the expectation the wireless charger will still make an appearance this month, and the latest report adds credence to the belief.

According to Digitimes, Apple will release the AirPower charger by the end of March. Mac Otakara previously reported the charger would arrive in March. However, two weeks into the month, Apple has not released the charger. That should change soon if the latest report from Digitimes is true.

Apple announced the wireless charger back in September alongside the iPhone X and iPhone 8 and their new wireless charging functionality. During the event, it stated the charger would be released some time in 2018. It now looks like that some time is March.

There are countless wireless chargers out there for iPhone X, we’ve highlighted some of the best, but AirPower will work the best with it. Not only will it charge iPhones, it will also charge Apple Watches—something no other Qi wireless charger has been able to do consistently. This is likely due to some restrictions by Apple to push customers to buy its own wireless charger solution, but that wouldn’t be the first time it does something to push its own products.

For the time being, we’ll keep our eyes open to see if the AirPower becomes available on Apple’s site any day now.
