If you’re looking for an affordable way to cut the cord, YouTube TV’s $35 a month fee is a good place to start. But you have to act fast, because the streaming service is getting a price increase to $40 per month starting Tuesday.
Since its launch, YouTube TV has remained among the most competitive options because of its affordable price and unlimited DVR. The price hike was first detailed in an announcement last month, when YouTube also revealed the service would introduce several new channels, including TBS and Cartoon Network.
The higher price isn’t all that drastic—an extra $60 over the course of a year, and you can cancel anytime. But it gives YouTube TV one less thing to boast about, possibly cutting into its competitive edge.
If you’ve already subscribed to YouTube TV at the $35 rate, that’s the price you’ll continue to pay. But if you decide to subscribe tomorrow, you’ll have to pay $40. In other words, act fast if you want to save some money.
