Samsung on Wednesday unveiled its newest QLED 4K TV line-up. The TVs aren’t seeing noticeable performance upgrades, with most of the improvements coming with design elements, picture quality and smart capabilities, including the addition of Samsung’s voice assistant, Bixby.

The QLED 4K TV line-up breaks down across four series: Q9, Q8, Q7 and Q6. Each will be available in different sizes and come in flat or curved models. Contributing to the improved picture quality is Direct Full Array (DFA) that will be available with the Q9 and Q8. Through the use of smartly controlled backlighting, it will result in deeper blacks and pure whites.

With their new capabilities, Samsung’s TVs will now act as hubs for its SmartThings platform. This will let you control all of the SmartThings gadgets through the TV, such as lights, thermostats, routers and so forth.

A major area Samsung focused on when creating its new TVs was connecting them better with the surrounding aesthetic. The result is Ambient Mode. Ambient Mode will be let the TVs display pertinent information even when they are not in use. It will be a live page displaying weather, news and traffic reports. Ambient Mode will also let users take a picture of the wall it is set up on and the TV will match the background. The feature looks quite cool in the demo images Samsung showed off.

What will make the Ambient Mode picture mode much more impressive is Samsung’s new One Invisible Connection that connects AV and power data to the TV. This means cable management will be on point, adding to the clean aesthetic Ambient Mode aims to deliver.

Samsung is going all in on Bixby and its TVs are the next product to gain the assistant, making them smarter. Users will be able to access the assistant through a button on the controller and ask it to find TV shows or control compatible devices through SmartThings.

Samsung said the new TVs will available in the beginning of March, though no pricing was shared.
