Moto G6 Play leaks in live shot

Motorola decided against announcing new hardware at MWC 2017, so naturally whatever the company has planned showed up in a new leak. This time it’s the Moto G6 Play, the most affordable member of the upcoming trio, getting spotted on camera.

The Taiwanese government is actually providing us with this leak since it needed to certify the device prior to being released.

The Moto G6 Play is shown from the front and back, neither of which tell us anything we didn’t know already. Motorola will indeed stretch the display for 18:9 aspect ratio, and it’ll utilize a Moto X4-like appearance at least on the back.

Specifications have yet to be determined, but it looks like Motorola plans on making this a decent entry-level phone. Rumors say it’ll ship with a 5.7-inch (1440×720) IPS LCD display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 12MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, a 4000mAh battery, and Android 8.0 Oreo. Based on that, the Moto G6 Play should turn out to be a great value.

Everyone was expecting the Moto G6 and Moto G6 Plus to debut alongside the Moto G6 Play earlier this week at the trade show in Barcelona, but that never happened. So there’s no real indication as to when Motorola intends to make things official.

Now the only idea is that Motorola will bring the Moto G6 family to Lenovo Tech World, which normally takes place in May or June.
