The Galaxy S9 will reach insane data speeds on T-Mobile’s network

The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus will not be lacking in speed of any sort. Samsung outfitted its latest flagships with the latest specs, but it didn’t stop there. Its internal model design was made to run on the fastest networks, one of which is T-Mobile. The end result is the Galaxy S9 reaching blazing speeds of up to 1.2Gbps on T-Mobile’s network.

That should come as no surprise; T-Mobile is the fastest network. The Galaxy S9 was specifically designed with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset that fully takes advantage of T-Mobile’s 600MHz spectrum. It is part of the Gigabit LTE network T-Mobile has been busy building up over the past couple years with the implementation of 4×4 MIMO, carrier aggregation and 256QAM. It has now deployed its advanced LTE network in nearly 5,000 cities and towns across the United States.

The Galaxy S9’s theoretical top speeds of 1.2Gbps are a full 20-percent faster than the Galaxy S8’s output. Regularly, speeds won’t be continuously reaching 1.2Gbps second, but they will be a whole lot faster than what phones using old network technology reached on average. T-Mobile wasn’t able to provide an average speed number due to data speeds varying in different locations.

T-Mobile customers who want to pick up a Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus and make good use of the insane data speeds can do so starting March 16. Pre-orders for the devices open March 1. The Galaxy S9 will retail for $720 and the Galaxy S9 Plus will be $840. Both devices will be available through T-Mobile’s installment plan.

During the initial launch, T-Mobile is offering a trade-in program for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus that can net customers up to $360 off with a qualifying trade-in device.
